One year after The Time Paradox...
The People vs The Gods of Olympus?
It's an idea that no one, not even The People themselves, would have thought possible. To the residents of The Lower Elements and the Mud Men that wander above, the Gods and Goddesses of Mount Olympus were thought to be myths. Stories were told about their power and how the came about being Gods, but that's all they were; stories. It seems, however, that things are about to take a drastic change for the worse.
Strange things have been happening, and people are beginning to think that it's caused by the Gods. And while people scoff at the idea, the strange occurrences continue to get worse. But why would they cause trouble?
Someone (namely an evil pixie known as Opal Koboi) has managed to reach the top of Mount Olympus and convince the Zeus and the others that The People have made an advance on the Mud Man's Land in order to launch an attack on the mountain of the gods. Zeus, of course, would have none of it. The Gods have never had a problem with the Mud Men or The People, but he wouldn't take a threat lightly. So they've begun to attack any fairy that happens to rise from below. This is careless, however, because humans are beginning to suffer as well.
The LEP have decided that in order to stop the attacks without exposing themselves to more Mud People that they need to trust in the one boy that they've come to know and 'love'; Artemis Fowl II.
